This parameter is calculated under ideal conditions, that is, using sheet metal at least 10 mm thick and a perpendicular peel force. In that case, the strength of such a magnet drops to as little as 1/5 of the value specified in the specifications. We recommend choosing a magnet with "some extra power to spare," but also using common sense, especially when using magnets around children.
